Dana Powers House

We held our daugher's wedding outside of the barn at the Dana-Powers House on the grass next to a beautiful orchard with the view of rolling hills, vineyards and trees. The cocktail hour was outside the barn, the reception inside the barn and we used the Dana-Powers House for the bridal party to dress and for photos. I can't tell you how many times our guests commented, "HOW did you find this place?? It's amazing!!" And, it was. Judi, her family and staff, the vendors she recommended and the facility were absolutely over-the-top fabulous. Our daughter's day was everything she'd hoped for and much more. The beauty and unique charm of the setting and the flexibility and generosity of the staff were Five-Star!! Every time we watch our video of the wedding, we can't stop commenting how perfect the location was! Don't hesitate to check out this venue! You will NOT be disappointed!

The Dana Powers House is so great because you have so many options...they have the gardens by the house, the barn, and the lawn area! It's like three venues in one! Plus Judi has a TON of rentals to choose from to give your wedding all of the style you want, without being left with a bunch of crap you're never going to use again! She was open to all of my ideas and totally supported my creative vision!

We absolutely loved the Dana Powers barn! This setting out in the hills of Nipomo, CA was perfect for us. We had our reception on a big lawn just outside the barn and then the reception was held inside the barn which was decorated beautifully. Judy Powers runs the venue now and provides many decorations that include chalkboards, crystal chandeliers, candy table for guests, vases, mason jars for water and lemonade, a coffee station, and bartenders if you want. She is great to work with and knows what she is doing. We had a wonderful experience here!

Judy was great to work with. On the day of the wedding she was on top of everything!! I had forgot to write on the chalk boards on morning of the wedding and sent one of my bridesmaids running out and she came back and said it was already done. Judy had done it already!! This venue is great especially if you want ceramony and reception at the same venue. Judy will make sure everything is in order!!

Judi was very helpful before and during my wedding. She was there whenever I have questions, she helped coordinate the wedding, she went through the rehearsal with us and it went perfectly well on the day of the wedding. She has a great house and barn to celebrate any occassions you may have. She definitely made my dream wedding come true.

This venue was just beautiful! When we were still trying to find THE PLACE to get married we knew instantly when we walked into those wonderful gardens that Dana Powers was the place!The price is worth it all! The services you get along with your booking here are just priceless! And, may I highly recommend using Judi's "day off planning" service! I don't know how this day would have gone without her there to keep everyone on track and on schedule, and even to clean a couple dresses after a unfortunate sick baby occurrence.This place and Judi are just wonderful! Our wedding went without a hitch and I owe a ton of it to the wonderful place and services provided!

Judi was fantastic to work with. She made sure all the little details fell into place and took much of the stress out of coordinating the wedding. She worked with all the vendors to get things organized. Her home and barn were the ideal location. Beautiful, great weather, and versatile. She was extremely flexible in accommodating our ideas!

I don't think I could have pictured a more perfect and beautiful wedding. Everything went so smooth, and everyone cooperated with each other. Judi, the owner of the Dana Powers Barn, is pretty well known...so my caterer and DJ both were able to set up, tear down, and work with her very easily. They were both familiar with her and her barn before the wedding, which made things VERY easy for me. Judi is a delight to work with. She is easy going, relaxed about everything, and makes you feel confident about your big day. The set-up of the barn is great too. We had pretty minimal decorations of our own since the barn itself and all of Judi's original touches to it makes it beautiful by itself. I loved having the dance floor in the middle because it really allows for all your guests to be involved and enjoy the events. The barn has such an intimate setting that makes everyone feel included and excited to celebrate with each other. So many of my guests met new people, just because the set up and atmosphere was so friendly, warm and inviting. Honestly...best...day...ever. If I could celebrate that day all over again..I totally would :)

We booked the house for our ceremony and the barn for our reception and it was a perfect setting! The house and the gardens were perfect. Judy was great to work with and very professional through the whole process... she was extremely pleasant and helpful the day of even though she was sick... an amazing site and a very positive experience.. we highly recommend it!

We got married at the Dana Powers House Barn Setting and it was perfect. The ceremony area outside is so wonderfully decorated with beautiful landscape you can have the perfect ceremony with little decoration additions. The barn is decorated with vintage mirrors, mason jars and lights so you don't have to worry about many more decorations inside. We chose to have pink and white latterns to match our wedding colors which were a perfect touch. Our guests cannot stop talking about how wonderful our wedding venue was. Judi, who runs the facility, is AMAZING!! She always told me "don't worry it's going to be fine" before the wedding which is exactly what a nervous bride like me wanted to hear. She took care of all of the small details for me. On the day of the wedding Judi was PERFECT. She made sure everything ran smoothly and most of all made sure my dress was perfect the whole day, because no one else could figure it out!! Her personal touches to the facility are amazing. She caters each wedding based on the couple. I could go on and on about how positive our wedding experience was. People are talking about how we had the best wedding they have ever been to and we have no doubt that the venue had a huge role in the great day!!

As a mother of the groom I would like to comment on how amazing it was to have my son and now daughter-in-law's wedding and ceremony all in one at the Dana Powers Barn. (May 15, 2010). I can honestly say I was as nervous as the bride and wanted to take as much stress off of her plate, therefore adding it to mine. Judi was amazing the week prior to the wedding.. we visited the Barn for final details and planning. She was open for our suggestions and also contributed her expertise. The morning of the wedding she helped to transform "her barn", into "our amazing wedding venue". Along with Judi's personal touches, she added her own charm, friendliness and touch of class to make our kids day, our family and guests day, one we will never forget. To have 175 + guests come on to her property for the day, she showed organization and professionalism at it's fullest. Thank you Judi and your staff for all your efforts with Chad and Maegan's wedding. We would not have changed a thing. Jim and Linda Guiton

The Dana Powers Barn was absolutely the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The guests were in awe of how adorable it was and the black and white dance floor in the center was the perfect spot and size for our guests...once the dancing started it didn't stop. We loved all of the unique spots the barn has. Great venue if you are looking for indoor, but with an outdoor more casual and relaxed feel. The barn was so transformed on the day of our wedding into this gorgeous room with white lanterns hanging.... At times communication was difficult---but in the end the day itself turned out prefect.

We got married at the Dana Powers Barn which is right next to the house and it was absolutely perfect. Judi was so easy to work with and there is nothing like this place. Everyone who came to the wedding just loved the shabby chic barn and all of its charm!

We used the barn at the Dana Powers property and I can't imagine having had it any other place. The barn is so beautiful and cleverly decorated that you hardly need to do any of your own decorations. My florist barely made it with the flowers, but I wasn't worried because I knew the barn didn't really need them. Some people laughed when we said our wedding was at the barn, but every person's jaw dropped when they saw. My husband and I wanted a casual celebration of our relationship and not a stiff, traditional wedding. The barn allowed us to bar-b-que and enjoy our family and friends without worrying about an overly formal atmosphere. Having said that, I think our guests took more pictures of the site than us! Also, I did all of the planning myself, without any idea of what I was doing. Over the course of nine months I frequently emailed Judy questions (that were probably dumb) and she was always kind and responded within the day. I had no idea she was going to organize our rehearsal, which she did and was so helpful! The day of the wedding Judy worked to make it as special and stress free as I could have hoped. She even added little touchs that I never planned and was willing to assist where ever she was needed. Looking back on the wedding, there isn't a single aspect I would have changed and I cannot wait for the pictures! This site was more than just a place to get married, the feel and character of the barn and property made it feel like home.

Judi and the DP Barn are absolutely incredible!! The outside ceremony site is gorgeous, and inside the barn is simply stunning. Like one of the brides below, everyone laughed when they heard the wedding was at a barn... but it took their breath away!! I am always tempted to take credit for all of the perfect details that Judi has put together at the Dana-Powers barn :) If you are looking for a charming and beautiful venue with a veteran coordinator who is attentive & kind, you won't go wrong with the Dana-Powers House or Barn!

Judi was great to work with, easy to get a hold of - helped on day of wedding.

The venue does not need to be decorated. It's filled with amazing antiques and gorgeous objects that the owner's collected. The feeling is very strong that every aspect of the property is special and attended to. It's by far the most perfect wedding venue in all regards!

The quality of sevice at the Dana Powers House/Barn was exceptional. Judi was always available for any questions or concers. She accommodated all of our needs and really went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect!

Judi is wonderful. She was very accommodating with my budget and special requests since we catered and decorated the event ourselves. She also has an amazing eye for decorations, and has the barn decorated to a T! She also adds special touches the day of, including personalized signs and decorations.
