Father Jerry Bellamy

Father Bellamy was a great officiant and made our wedding really special. We got numerous compliments about him and were happy with everything. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Father Bellamy was beyond perfect. He performed our ceremony and we received numerous comments on how it was the most moving ceremony our guests had attended. He was the perfect blend between humorous, sentimental, and charismatic. We highly recommend him!

Father Bellamy was incredible. He has a funny, relaxed way of connecting with everyone in the audience and put us at ease during the ceremony. Our family is part Catholic, part Christian, and part Hindu, so he had quite the job cut out for him to create a service that incorporated multiple faiths and included something for each culture. He united all of our ideas and requests into a heartfelt, sincere and touching service that brought tears to our guests eyes. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking for a personal and heartwarming officiant. Thank you Father Jerry for everything, may you marry many more happy couples!

Very nice and funny guy. Was very professional and extremely helpful in planning the ceremony. On the wedding day the Rev, made the service go smoothly and went over each stage. He made the entire service very enjoyable with a hint of laughter. Would definately recommend

I couldn't have thought of a better person to marry my husband and me. Jerry was not only amazingly genuine but so funny and nice. I had about half of my guests ask me who he was, how i found him, and could they get his number...We even had someone say, "If I was going to hear him speak every sunday, then I would go to church." He not only made our day special but he touched the lives of our beloved guests and that was important for us too!

Father Jerry was the perfect officiant for our wedding. He put as at ease through his humor when our nerves were high, and he had some great, creative suggestions for personal elements to add to our ceremony. Father Bellamy is fantastic. My husband and I live in Los Angeles and traveled to Santa Barbara for our wedding. It was a little more difficult for us to set aside time to travel to SB to meet with officiants than if we'd decided to get married closer to home. Luckily, our venue had a short list of officiants they recommended and Father Bellamy was at the top of the list. We called him up and were immediately convinced that he would be perfect. A few weeks later, we drove up to SB to meet with him and plan our ceremony. He made everything so easy. We could add or remove things from our ceremony depending on what we were most comfortable with to create a ceremony that was perfect for us. All of the guests at our wedding loved him too. We got (and are still getting) so many comments on how great he was and how much they liked what he had to say during the ceremony. Father Bellamy really contributed to making our wedding day perfect. My husband and I would recommend him to anyone!

Father Jerry was amazing, he spent time with my husband and I before the wedding to get to know us and made sure that we were comfortable with the ceremony he was performing.It's obvious that he truly loves what he does and makes the wedding day very special for everyone involved. Father Jerry, or "Holy Guy," really was amazing. There were plenty of people to please, and a boatload of nerves, but Father Jerry did a great job of adding some levity to our experience - while still being tasteful and eloquent.I can't tell you how many people came up to us after the ceremony and told us how great they thought the service was. Our recommendation is to, upon your initial meeting, have a general outline of what you want from your ceremony. Leave the rest to the "Holy Guy," because he really is excellent at what he does.Could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Father Jerry!

Dear future brides and grooms. What can I say? Father Jerry Bellamy was worth every penny. We had visited with other officiants that didn't suite us in the way Father Bellamy did. If you are experiencing challenges with this element of the planning stop the worrying and call Father Bellamy. We were told by our violinist that he has been to 300 weddings and never had he once cried until our wedding. We were told by an elderly neighbor that he has never learned so much from a minister. Our parents were thrilled with the service. The memory of it all will forever be engraved in our hearts as the most incredible experience! If you are looking to have a ceremony that engages those attending and shows them that they are valued in atttending this is the right choice. If you are searching for a meaningful service that crosses all religious boundaries choose Father Bellamy. If you are looking for a minister that is approachable, easy to discuss stressful details with, carefree, and considerate chose Father Bellamy.

Father Jerry had a difficult task ahead of him in that he had to work with two separate faiths (or rather a faith and nonfaith group). He did the impossible! Everybody LOVED the ceremony and at the reception and afterwards many told me that it was the best ceremony they’d ever witnessed!!! The Catholics were pleased, the atheists were not offended! The groom cried and the bride cried and they were happy to see that the other felt so deeply but the emotions were joyful, not sad. Father Jerry, along with the bride and groom's input, created the perfect ceremony for them and their familes and friends. I don’t use the term perfection lightly since perfection is very rare but it really was perfect! The highest compliment (for me, mother of the bride) came from MY 90 year old mother who is a tough one to please! She said that she totally enjoyed the ceremony and thought that “ Father Jerry was really good the way he tied it all together”. Believe me that is high praise coming from her! Father Jerry made it personal and totally "got" where the bride and groom were coming from and where they wanted to go. Wonderful happy memories remain for all of us due to Father Jerry!

Both the groom and I have been to 70+ weddings and the officiant never really stood out or if he/she did it was because this person did a bad job. We were pleased to see that Father Jerry is different than other officiant. Our wedding ceremony was everything we could have asked for and more! Father Jerry's bio hit a home run with us because he is a retired Catholic priest like my dad, speaks Spanish (as does the groom's side), and has experience doing non-demoniational ceremonies. When we met with Father Jerry to do the planning for our ceremony, we instantly connected. He is very personable and really makes it about the couple. He doesn't force his views or religion on you and allows you to lead him into planning the customized ceremony. We got many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was. My aunt was even amazed at the chemistry that we had with Father Jerry even though we only met him a few months earlier. We really liked how the ceremony was about us, love, family, and friends, yet we had aspects that touched on prayer and faith without being too much. We really enjoyed ourselves during our ceremony and think our guests did too! Thank you Father Bellamy!

All we kept hearing, and still keep hearing, is how magical our wedding ceremony was, and a huge piece of that was Jerry. He is a total professional.... and he is hilarious! He worked with us to bring the perfect mix of ceremonial tradition and Californian "laid backness," that we feel really fits us as a couple. He has so much experience and has so many ideas. He is happy to plan as much of the ceremony as you want or let you tell him exactly what you have in mind. We were grateful for his guidance because we weren't sure of what exactly we wanted. He gave us suggestions that we otherwise would not have thought of. Our family and friends all were very impressed by him... they loved him, and we did as well. He is so personable, he makes you feel so at ease. I couldn't imagine a better guy for the job.

Reverend Bellamy was so kind and helpful during what can be a bit of a stressful time! He has a great sense of humor and really made us feel so comfortable. He lets you do the ceremony your way and was a very special part of our wedding!

Finding the right officiant for our wedding was a bit of a struggle as we're sure it is for most. So I'm very happy to report that you need look no further than Jerry Bellamy. He's all the things you read in the other reviews - professional, flexible, responsive, knowledgeable, warm and funny. Yes, the guests loved him and are still commenting on how engaging and entertaining he was. All this was wonderful, but more impressive to us, were his instincts and understanding as to how to make the ceremony meaningful and memorable to us, the bride and groom. For most, wedding stress and nervousness create an atmosphere where the ceremony becomes just a blur for the husband and wife to be. Not only did Father Bellamy take the lead and make the ceremony stress free, he created unique and thoughtful moments in which we could not only bond with each other, but with our family and guests - and beyond that, moments that bonded our guests to each other. This created a positive, joyful and loving atmosphere that carried over through the reception until the last guest (reluctantly) said goodnight. These were master strokes that could only be born of experience and a sincere desire to create the most memorable ceremony possible. One is not likely to find this among well meaning, ordained amateurs (even your cool, funny uncle Bob) as it is rare enough among professionals (based on our experience). Father Bellamy was truly a blessing to find and have as our officiant. He sat down with my husband and I one afternoon to spend time planning what was the perfect ceremony for us. It was so helpful to hear his point of view and what he has found works best from his years of experience. He helped us create a ceremony that really reflected our relationship and values. The day of the ceremony I was so grateful for his sense of humor and kind reminders. I am so grateful that he was a part of our very special day.

I contacted Father Bellamy about his availablity, experience, and rates, and immediately knew he was going to be the officiant for our wedding! Without really comparing other officiants, I thought he was a bit expensive, but he was completely worth it! If you are going to try to cut back expenses for your wedding, the officiant is NOT the place to do it! After all, the ceremony IS your wedding and what you'll cherish forever -- the reception is just a celebration/party.My husband and I live in Seattle, so planning a wedding in Santa Barbara was extra stressful. We met Father Bellamy once in person before the wedding to plan the ceremony and it worked out beautifully! In just a couple hours (maybe even 1), we had our perfect ceremony planned!Father Bellamy had many suggestions for our ceremony and really worked with us to make sure the ceremony reflected our personalities. My husband is Catholic and speaks Spanish (along with his family), so we were able to incorporate a bit of the Catholic traditions and some Spanish, which made it very special. Father Bellamy is also very humorous and captivating -- he really made the guests feel like they were a part of the ceremony. I am confident that we couldn't have found a better officiant! I do not believe a 5 is generous enough a rating for Fr. Bellamy, he was a 10+ in our book. When my wife and I decided we wanted an outdoor wedding we looked around and saw that we could get married in Santa Barbara on the court house grounds we were excited. But after speaking to the courts they only used a room in the court house or the back steps. Some what deflated by this news I contacted the SB county parks dept., spoke with Jeanne Lopez and she highly recommended Fr. Bellamy.I read the reviews (just like this one) and called him the same day. Since we would be traveling from out of town and the court house was all we knew, he suggested other venues for us to consider. After deciding on the Santa Barbara Mission Rose garden all we had to do was show up. My wife andI were raised Catholic but were looking for a civil service, however much to our surprise we had the best of both worlds from Fr. Bellamy. With just our families gathered in the Rose garden (a spot I highly recommend), Fr. Bellamy performed a very memorable moment we all loved. A splash of humor, a dash seriousness, a sprinkle of religion, and even a moment to stand silent to marinate all of it under the clear blue sky that the day presented....... AAAHHHHH!!!!! Thank you Fr. Bellamy for all you did to make our day simply amazing. With your help, kind words, professionalism, personalism, and genuine heart we had a beautiful wedding.
