Our wedding cake was so popular that we had more guests ask for a referral to Montecito Confections than any other vendor. Moist, delicious, plentiful, durable and gorgeous, we could not have asked for a better cake. We went with 2 layers of Italian Rum Cake and 2 layers of Tiramisu and it was incredible! Not only was the cake delicious and stunning, but we were late in ordering it and Montecito Confection was extremely flexible and quick in sheduling an off hours tasting and getting our cake delivered timely. We highly recommend Montecito Confections!!!

The cake from Montecito Confections was included with our catering package, but in retrospect, I wish that we had chosen our own baker. The cake was fine, but I expected better. We had a wonderful tasting experience. We selected a design and the flavors we wanted, and agreed that the florist would provide the flowers to cascade down the cake. They were very nice, and even gave us a fourth tier even though we only needed 3 for the amount of guests we had. But when they delivered the cake, our planner told me she walked into the ballroom and found them picking flowers out of the centerpieces to make the cascade down the cake. When I saw it later, I noticed that the design was not what we had asked for. It was still simple and elegant, but we had specified a different design.

We absolutely loved our wedding cake! We got a rum custard, lemon strawberry, and chocolate mousse in our layers and everything was sooo delicious. The actual cake even exceeded our tasting -- it was incredibly moist and flavorful. We really loved it. Katie, the owner, is really hard to get hold of because she is soo busy making wedding cakes and running her cafe, but her cake, service and value is well worth it. We had a deal to get a cake with her through our venue, Fess Parker's DoubleTree, and it was really a superb deal for us. And it was decorated exactly how we wanted.

This was an easy sell. Went on saturday sat down and they gave me all of the samples they had that day to try. No guessing necessary, they have all samples availble to make sure you like what you get and trust me you will. The cake is sooooo moist. I recommend the butter rum pecan to die for! Their prices are reasonable too. They are not pushy at all which i loved. Very easy going. So much so i gave them a cake topper a week before the wedding and they had no problem with the change.they were really great!

Katie is the best. It was the best wedding cake ever, and it looked exactly how I wanted it to. I think we'll be coming back every year just to get some more of that milk chocolate mousse, yum!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! The only problem I faced is that it was VERY hard to get a hold of them. I spent a lot of time calling and leaving lots of messages-but it was worth it!

Katie designed our cake from a vision we had. It was four layers and absolutely perfect. We went with two layers of the carrot cake - THE BEST, the chocolate mousse and the lemon. It tasted great and was beautiful.

The woman who owns this place is very nice, and instead of freezing the top layer of cake, she makes you a free one on your 1-year anniversary!

The cake was delicious, light, fluffy and beautiful to look at. We went with cupcakes and a small cake for cutting which was great because guests were easily able to take leftovers with them. I really liked the fact that the cake was not super rich and heavy and incorporated fresh fruit....they had a wide variety of choices too....

Katie designed our wedding cake and although it turned out nice, it didn't look like the picture I provided her. Our wedding cake was the U.S. Capitol. It looked beautiful early in the reception, but started "settling" to the left and the statue and ornaments fell off the top. Our photographers were able to get a few good pictures in before it started leaning and melting. One thing she promised is that when our guests walk in, they will know that it's the Capitol - and she was right. I just thought that I'd get a better quality cake after looking at her portfolio of cake pictures and ordering a cake from a well-known place in Santa Barbara? It took Katie a few months to provide me a contract after leaving her half our deposit for our wedding cake. I called several times and left messages. It wasn't until my wedding coordinator went in to personally ensure she drafted up my contract that I received it through my wedding coordinator - not Katie. This is why I rated a little low on responsiveness. The cake was good though and received compliments on the flavor. I'm sure that our cake would've turned out more sturdy and stable if we would have ordered a more traditional looking wedding cake. I also asked for a cake stand, but that didn't show up at our wedding either. :(

The cake was paid for by our reception site who contracts with Montecito Confections. Overall it just wasn't amazing. The staff we worked with were friendly and understanding and the design of the cake looked great when it was done and ready. However, going to taste test was not a we-feel-spoiled event at all; it was just trying a taste of each of the cakes they had ready that day all on one plate together. We had to ask for water and it just wasn't super professional. The actual taste of the cake was good; not necessarily better than other cakes I've had though. It was a good cake, but not "wow I love my wedding cake" status. Also, be sure to understand their cake tier-ing system. It is based on number of guests, which makes sense. So if you call the week before and have several more or fewer guests, the number of tiers on your cake might change as well. It didn't happen to us because we had made sure to understand their policy, but it wasn't communicated clearly from the start. Overall, a decent vendor and for us the price was right.

Katie is very easy to work with. We booked her very early and were glad we did, her work was beautiful and really achieved the look we were asking for. We gave her our invitation as the inspiration and worked her magic from there. Not to mention that it was delicious. Of the 4 different tiers though the tiramisu was definitely the star, we highly recommend it! All in all we couldn't have asked for a more efficient baker or a better result.
