Pacific Harvest Catering

Aside from our venue, Pacific Harvest was the first vendor we booked as food was our number one priority for our late March wedding. We didn’t have a set theme other than we wanted to create a giant dinner party that was warm and inviting with great food, and Pacific Harvest’s “seasonal, local” approach was perfect for us. We worked closely with Dawn to create a menu that would be served family-style – she takes your ideas and does a great job of incorporating them into the offerings. Dawn had her first baby about half way into our planning so sometimes we struggled with communication and clarity on details from what they offer. If I have the chance to work with them again, I’d make sure to be more proactive about requesting these specifics up front (for ex., Asking what serving pieces they plan to offer for the event. For us, we ended up needing to rent about $500 more of serving items we didn’t anticipate earlier in the planning process). Also, if you choose to serve family-style make sure to ask that the servers help guests understand how food will be served as there was some confusion with some of our guests in the dining process. In the end, the food was delicious, inventive for “wedding fare” and a very worthwhile product.

Seth, Pauly, Dawn and Carla were the most amazing team! We were so happy with the menu and the value that Pacific Harvest came up with for our 10/29/11, we love to cook but would LOVE to have their food everyday! Our guests were extreemly impressed.

The food was incredible! The presentation was outstanding! The staff was friendly and fun! Dawn was incredibly helpful in answering questions and putting the puzzle pieces together.

Serving great food was definitely a requirement for our wedding, which is why we decided to work with Pacific Harvest. In the months before the wedding, Dawn was unfailingly helpful and responsive, both over email and in our in-person meeting. We were especially grateful for this, as our venue was very DIY and its management was a bit flaky, so we really appreciated her advice and professionalism. Even when she had her first baby in the month before our wedding (congrats!!), she was STILL communicative and on top of all the details. But the weekend of the wedding is when I was SO GLAD we were working with Pacific Harvest. When I realized the table linens wouldn't be arriving with enough time for my friends and I to set up the reception tables the morning before the wedding, Dawn dropped them off herself a day early. And when one of the heat lamps broke during the rehearsal dinner, she got the rental company to bring out a replacement in time for the wedding reception, even though they were closed that day. And all this is in addition to the food and service itself, which was excellent across the board. I am a food writer and private chef, so it was really important to me to serve tasty food made with seasonal and local ingredients. I have heard from many guests -- a lot of whom work in the food world as well -- that it was the best meal they have ever eaten at a wedding. Others have said it is one of the best meals they have ever eaten, period. I'm still dreaming about a couple of the dishes! We went with family-style service and everything was well-timed, with a fresh platter of food coming out just as the last platter was passed around the table. I was also really happy with the Thai grilled chicken recipe I gave them to adapt; it was perfectly executed. And everything was plated beautifully. Because the wedding was so DIY, with many homemade touches and small details, I was a little nervous things would fall through the cracks, but Coral the catering manager and the staff on site that day were on top of everything. They weren't fazed by a last-minute move of the dessert buffet and didn't forget to give specially-made sides to our vegan guests. They were friendly and responsive and seemed genuinely invested in making our day the best it could be. I could not be more thankful for everything they did for us. If good food and excellent service are priorities for you, Pacific Harvest is absolutely the right choice. If you are wondering, "Is it worth paying a little more for them rather than Dirt Cheap Caterer X?" I would say, YES. For my money, the extra expense for a memorably delicious, well-executed meal at your once-in-a-lifetime event is worth every penny.

Pacific Harvest Catering did an excellent job at my daughter's outdoor garden wedding. My guests are still raving about the excellent food and the artful presentation! As Dawn had just had her baby girl, her assistant manager, Coral, was in charge of our reception. She did an excellent job and was attentive to every request.

It was important for us to find caterers who prepared seasonal and local food at our wedding and we found it in Pacific Harvest. They were so accommodating to our food and drink requests and the dishes they prepared were ones you would expect at a fine dining restaurant. Our guests are *still* talking about the appetizers at cocktail hour, especially the korean tacos we had asked them to make! Everything during dinner was equally delicious as well, and there were many compliments about the dessert bar. Their waitstaff was extremely attentive and professional as well. One thing that stood out was that Paul personally brought out a beautiful wooden platter of appetizers for my husband and me after the ceremony. They wanted to make sure we got to enjoy them, since we were taking pictures during cocktail hour. How awesome is that? And trust me, all of the appetizers were beyond delicious. Dawn was absolutely wonderful to work with, and I can't emphasize how flexible and accommodating she was when helping to plan our menu, while keeping in mind what would be freshest during the season. I'm sure this gets said a lot, but I have to say that Pacific Harvest did an AMAZING job and we would highly recommend them for any event!

Pacific Harvest Catering is the best! If you are getting married or planning a special event in Paso Robles or the SLO area, use them! My wedding was in Paso Robles at Venteux Vineyards and my Rehearsal Dinner was at Silverhorse and PCH did the catering for both dinners. WOW, the food was out of this world. They really do the Farm to Table thing which is important to me, and they use local ingredients. The pasta at my wedding was the best pasta I've ever had in my life and the lamb chops were so great that my vegan friends went Non-vegan for the evening and chowed down! I did my wedding food served family style rather than plated which added an extra element of earthiness and country farm vibe that I was looking for. But they can do whatever you want, and they are so easy to talk to and such nice people! I can't recommend them enough.

Hands down, the best wedding food ever! I could send this review to all who attended our wedding and they would all agree. Our guests were still talking about it the next day. Dawn, you were so easy to work with and you were really quite amazing! Our family style dinner was such a perfect match for the venue. The food was out of this world! Thank you so much and now my only wish is to repeat this dinner someday, where I can actually take my time to savor it! Thank you!

Pacific Harvet is an amazing catering company! We did a destination wedding and so we never got to do a tasting or even meet Dawn until the day of the wedding, but everything was amazing! The food was the best wedding food ever, its is 5 star quality, they use all fresh ingredients! Dawn is amazing she and her staff did an amazing job and I am so glad that we used them! Thank you Pacific Harvet for making my wedding perfect!

Pacific Harvest was wonderful! They really listened to what style of food we wanted and took it to a whole new level! They were more than willing to stay within our budget and took care of all the plates, silverware, linens etc. They were all the talk the next day about how great the food was! I would use them again for any event I would be hosting! Thanks again Pacific Harvest!!!!

Food was great. Dawn is terrific to work with, and very flexible. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the bartender - he served champagne to people before the toasts, even though I had specified that was not to happen. Thank goodness I brought in a few extra bottles! Overall, they are really good and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

We selected Pacific Harvest Catering for our wedding and truly couldn't have been happier! Dawn and Seth were willing to meet with us in person to let us sample food, allowed us to create a seasonal menu that fit our event, and were incredibly helpful with logistical issues throughout the challenging planning process (as we were planning an event 3,000 miles from our home). Our guests loved the food ("Even this butter is amazing!!" noted our best man) and we received countless compliments on the catering staff's attentiveness to details and friendly demeanor. The team made it all look so effortless. We appreciate how flexible they were regarding vegetarian/vegan meals, and also put together some pretty tasty children's dinners. Our only complaint is that my now-husband and I didn't get to enjoy all the amazing appetizers because we were too busy taking photographs during the cocktail hour! Selecting Pacific Harvest Catering was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Highly recommend!

My groom and I are take our food very seriously, but we didn't want a formal sit-down dinner. At the same time, we were worried that having a buffet for our wedding would end up looking like a cheesy, hotel conference room spread. But Pacific Harvest solved our concerns with a spread that was as visually stunning as it was delicious. Dawn was so nice and so easy to work with- she took in all our concerns and personal tastes, and in the time it took other caterers to respond to my initial RFP's, she had designed a custom menu that fit exactly what my husband and I like and what we wanted to offer our guests. To this day, our guests rave about the food- I've been told numerous times the salmon and tri tip were the best people have ever had. And my husband and I agree- whoever said the bride and groom don't get to eat at the wedding didn't hire Pacific Harvest because we ate one of everything, and loved it all!

My husband and I were married at Edna Valley Vineyard in October 2010. We hired Pacific Harvest without doing a tasting because they were highly recommended, we do not live in the area, and we truly enjoyed our interactions with Dawn during the planning process. The food at our wedding was wonderful, and our friends and family members are still talking about it six months later! It was the perfect mix of local ingredients, interesting tastes, unique presentation, and truly tasty food that was appealing to people with myriad preferences and needs. Delicious!

I can't not say enough great things about Pacific Harvest Catering!! They are absolutely wonderful to work with and not to mention they have the most amazing food...we got sooo many compliments on our menu and they made the whole day run so smoothly. They really are the BEST!!! Thank you Dawn and crew for making our day truly amazing.

they were great with providing menu selection advice and all of the food was excellent. it was a very low stress experience for us and that helped make our wedding that much more fun.

Many of our guests asked who the caterer was because they felt the food was delicious. Many said it was the best food they have had at a wedding. One guest told us about the server offering to take her plate,our guest said she would really like more but could not eat it right now. The server came back with a piece of chicken in foil so she could take it home with her. She thought that was really nice. The food was displayed very nicely, we had a buffet and plenty of food. Thankful for how smooth everything went. We had no problems.

Pacific Harvest Catering was amazing. The service at the wedding was perfect and the food was delicious. So many of our guests commented on how incredible the food tasted. Dawn was very responsive to all my email questions and super helpful. I would highly recommend PHC for any event.

I am so pleased with how my caterering turned out for our wedding. Dawn was so easy to work with and the she was attentive to the things i asked of her. Their prices were awesome and in our budget. The food was unbelievably good. everyone raved about how good it was. The girls who ended our night on her staff were fun and very sweet to me. It made the night just a little more special.

Dawn was awesome! She was was so helpful to work with and she even coordinated our rentals! The food was delicious (people raved about the honey butter) and the presentation was gorgeous! One of our favorite vendors of the day!
