Studio 101 West Photography

Studio 101 West did the photography for our wedding this past May and we could not have been more pleased. Dennis, the owner and photographer, was great to work with - from start to finish. Because we live out of town (San Jose) he was always very accommodating to our needs. In regards to the photography, our engagement photos came out great and Dennis was fun to work with. He was really open to when we had ideas of our own when it came to location settings, etc. When the big day came Dennis and his wife Deborah could not have been more professional, yet at ease. They captured all the big moments and then all of the million other moments in between. We absolutely loved every single photo that was taken. His style is great too - as it is a mix of modern "photo-journalistic" and good old fashion "traditional" (i'm no photographer, so hopefully this makes sense!). In other words, it is not all one style or another. Also, just as it was when we were doing our engagement photos, he was open to our ideas of the different areas where we wanted to do the photos, so that was really nice. And to top everything off, we wanted to do a dress-up/photo booth but didn't have the budget to actually rent one, so Dennis and Deborah set up the camera for a few hours after dinner, and we did our own version of a photo booth. It was so much fun to watch, and be a part of. The great thing about our version was that big groups could all be in the same photo (all dressed up of course). Dennis was great in accommodating this request of ours and did everything possible to make it happen. I would recommend Dennis and his team to anyone looking to hire a photographer for any event in the central coast!

Dennis is a talented photographer! He was able to accommodate our needs with a reasonable budget. He is very attentive and professional. I feel like he captured every moment of our wedding, including the little moments that usually only remain in our memories. He was able to take a balance of posed shots as well natural ones. His images are very artistic without being over the top. He was a hit with all of our guests and we are still receiving compliments about his personality at the wedding as well as the beautiful images he has given to us.

Like many guys I am not wild about being the center of attention and the focus of the camera, but Dennis made me feel comfortable and relaxed. That turned out to be the key to getting some great photos of me and my bride of 24 years at our wedding vow renewal ceremony, and our home. I loved the pictures Dennis took. However, there were some pictures that he didn't take (or that didn't turn out well, so I never saw them) that I wish I had. I would suggest making a list of all the pictures you want - look through other people's wedding pictures to get ideas.
